A Post-Mortem

If you follow this at all (and nobody is more surprised or grateful than me if you do, you big beautiful masochist, you), you know missing a Thursday post is a big deal. It takes a lot, usually a hospitalization or a divorce, but luckily I’ve only done one of those things so far, and honestly if I can keep my phone in the hospital, maybe this gets tap-tapped out anyway? All I need is one free thumb and a half-baked idea which, if I’m the hospital, practically provides itself. There is no experience, however horrific, that does not also bring the slightly oily relief of being CONTENT. Being a online type is basically the same as being a Buddhist as it gives meaning to one’s suffering.

Yesterday’s suffering was just regular Thanksgiving, so I was busy cooking a whole thing. I did it myself again this year for just me and my offspring, but it wasn’t full COVID protocols. I did a friend’s Thanksgiving with a few vaccinated others on Tuesday and that was fine, zero deaths so far (though it is only Friday, I should be more patient). I don’t have the booster yet, but I’ve been eligible for a couple of weeks. It’s time to upgrade that mRNA and really stick it to that weird coalition of far left hippies and far right fascists who only agree on this one thing. Actually if I think about it, they probably agree on a lot more, just express it differently. Their positions would be clearer if they weren’t so cluttered by the very forward branding; like, a swastika tattoo kind of drowns everything out. These are not the only notes I have for these groups.

This is not the time nor the place as this is the VERY SHORT make-up post for not posting yesterday. This blog is now over. Now I will go take a walk in the hills here and very pointedly not go anywhere or do anything or spend any money, not really in any kind of protest, just because I made it through yesterday and now I don’t have to. I’m sure there’s an economy to prop up/rescue, but I’m sure there’s a way I can do that laying on my couch watching YouTube videos about dog rescues. We must all do our part.
